How to Easily Integrate Skool with Klaviyo via Zapier

Grab Your Skool API Key
Before you build anything in Zapier, you need your credentials from Skool. Head into your Skool community, open up your settings menu, and scroll down to plugins. Click on the Zapier integration tab.
You will see your community URL and your unique API key right there. Copy that key and keep that tab handy. You will need both pieces of information to authenticate the connection in Zapier in the next step.
Jump into Zapier and create a new Zap. For your trigger app, search for Skool. If you have not connected your account yet, click to add a new account and paste in the API key and community URL you just copied.
Next, choose your event. If you run a paid membership, select 'New Paid Member'. If you host a free group, choose 'New Free Member' instead. Once you hit continue, run a test trigger to pull in recent member records. Zapier will pull in sample data from your community so you have real fields to map.
Create the Klaviyo Profile
Now that Zapier listens for new Skool signups, you need to push that data into Klaviyo. Add an action step and search for Klaviyo. Choose the 'Create Profile' event.
Authenticate your Klaviyo account (I prefer connecting fresh directly through the prompt window to make sure I am in the right workspace) and map the email field from your Skool trigger into Klaviyo. Run a test. If the profile already exists in Klaviyo, it updates it. If it is a brand-new contact, it creates them instantly. That is step one, but leaving it here is a mistake.
Creating a profile puts someone into your Klaviyo database, but it does not organise them. You almost certainly want them inside a dedicated list so you can take action right away.
Add a third step to your Zap, select Klaviyo again, and choose the 'Add Profile to List' action. In the setup fields, map the email or profile identifier from the previous step and pick the specific list you want them added to. If you have not created that list yet, head over to Klaviyo, create something like 'Skool Members', come back to Zapier, hit refresh, and select it.
Having new community members drop straight into a specific list serves two critical automation purposes. First, it lets you trigger a tailored onboarding flow immediately after they join, delivering key resources within 2 minutes of sign-up.
Second, and just as important, it gives you a clean suppression tool. You can immediately exclude active Skool members from your public promotional campaigns and sales broadcasts. Nobody wants to receive a discount pitch for a community they joined yesterday.
Final Thoughts
Connecting Skool to Klaviyo through Zapier takes less than 10 minutes to configure. Getting your members into a dedicated list ensures your automated welcome emails fire on time and keeps your regular promotional messaging clean. It is simple, but essential.
